Some brave soul picked up this guy recently:
I can only imagine the depreciation on it. F1 shifter, not a manual. Gotta be, I don't know, single digit percentage of it's original price? I think this is the guy who has a grand Marquis and stopped by as I was wrenching on the Miata to chat about the two he owned. Good luck to you, sir. It was in his driveway a few days ago, street yesterday, gone today. Maybe it drives, maybe he pushed it from the street for a tow. I'll be curious to see how this guy turns out.

Doesn’t look like it’s seen a garage in it’s life. And I mean a storage garage, not a repair facility.

That’s about the roughest I’ve ever seen one of those.
These were what, $80k-ish new? If he spent more than $4k on it, I’d say that’s too much. That would be 5% of original price.

The cheapest one on cars.com is $9k and it looks a hell of a lot nicer than this one.

In manual spec, thi s is actually my favorite Maserati.
That one, however, looks like it’s lead a rough life. Hope he got a deal on it...

I’d love one in manual; rumors are that they are pretty solid with the 3 pedal transmission.

I know I wouldn't lol. I've seen 25-30-year-old shitboxes with clearer lenses than those.

I've heard the same. Sure, you might still deal with the occasional electrical gremlin, but mechanically, the manual Gran Sport is supposed to be relatively trouble-free.

I am always tempted by these in manual form. At one point I considered them seriously enough to consult with some folks about what it takes to actually keep one running. I know what lurks in Italian exotics parts, but I used to turn wrenches for living. How hard could it be....?
I knew the biggest hurdle would be the cost to access the right dialect of Italian exotic computer equipment for diagnostics/coding modules/calibrating parts. How bad could that be?
My mechanical mentor once owned an exotic indy shop and now works at a high-end indy shop that works on these cars from time to time. When I asked him what it would really cost for me as a former wrench turner to keep one going, his answer was “we just bought a $40,000 computer that speaks the proper dialect of proprietary late model F-car electronics
to really work on one of these... and you’re not going to be able to get very far under the hood without the capability
” That told me enough to know that I wouldn’t be able to afford the use of such equipment nearly as often as the need would arise.

Its as rough as it looks. No clear coat on hood or roof, light are opaque. No visible rust, though. Looks like the rear suspension is squatting a bit. I would love to know what he got it for
